I got lost.
I couldn't see anything...hear anything...feel anything.
In my everyday routine...I found myself lost.
Lost in the world. Lost in the chaos of everything going on. For months I kept fighting through the vast nothingness...desperate to make sense of it all and desperate to make it all stop.
God finally stretched out His hand to me. He told me to go. Just go. Just walk.
And as I walked, I took it all in. And I heard His voice….
“And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.”.....Isaiah 30:21
It's not about making the chaos stop.
It's about living with the chaos.
It's about stopping and looking.
About breathing in deeply and hearing what is really around you, the creation of God.
“Through everything God has made, people can clearly see His invisible qualities-His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God”....Romans 1:20
It's about seeing the patch of beautiful green among the bleakness.
It's about seeing the trees through the forest...and stopping to admire them. Learn from them. Hear them creek. Hear the wind through their bare branches. Watching them sway above it all...all the while their deep roots hold them steady.
It's about feeling the cold wind blowing around knowing that the warmth of the sun will soon return. But clinging to the blanket until it does.
It's about desperately trying to find your way through the thicket and thorns...feeling stuck and lost....fighting for a way out when all you really needed to do was to sit and be still.
“Be still and know that I am God”...Psalm 46:10
Look at where God led you...into a safe spot.
Just sit and rest.
Stop.
Just stop and be at peace.
“He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters”...Psalm 23:2
It's about going just 5 feet of the path that the rest of the world is on.
We are called to step away from this world….not fight our way through it. We must live in it but not with it. The chaos will always be there. The noise will always be there. But let God do the fighting. Let God do the worrying. Let God sort it all out.
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still”....Exodus 14:14
Keep on finding the light.....
